Kelly Loftin

Dr. Kelly Loftin, University of Arkansas

Kelly Loftin is an Extension Entomologist at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He supports imported fire ant management, livestock and poultry IPM and forage pest management through applied research and extension education programs. His current applied research efforts include fire ant quarantine treatments for commercial sod, Pseudacteon phorid flies (release and establishment), fire ant issues/management in soybean, fire ant product evaluation and use of repellents and traps to manage horn flies on cattle. Kelly has been with the University of Arkansas since 1998.

Prior to moving back to Arkansas, Kelly served as U.S. Army entomologist and biological sciences instructor. He earned his Ph.D. (Entomology) from New Mexico State University, M.S. (Entomology) from the University of Arkansas, and B.S. (Fisheries and Wildlife Management) from Arkansas Tech University. Kelly is board certified in Medical/Veterinary and Urban/Industrial Entomology.
